Meet the Teacher
Dear Parents & Students, Welcome to 1st grade! I am very excited to be your teacher for the 2020-2021 school year. This will be my third year teaching 1st Grade, and my fifth year teaching in Salem School District. This year will be a little different, as I am not only teaching 1st Grade students at Soule, but Barron, Fisk, Lancaster, and North Salem students, too! I am grateful for the opportunity to connect with your child this year and teach them remotely. Happy back to school! Sincerely, Miss Alfaro

My Childhood |
I was born in Massachusetts and grew up in New Hampshire. I loved school, reading, and everything about learning- that's why I became a teacher! As a child I enjoyed playing school, drawing, crafting, playing guitar and piano, writing songs, and playing sports with my older brother (soccer, baseball, basketball, softball, and swimming). I swam competitively for thirteen years and loved every second of it! I spent my summers camping up north, fishing in Pittsburg, New Hampshire, playing on the beach in Maine, surfing with cousins in California, and visiting family in North Carolina (maybe this is why I have the travel bug)!

My Education |
In May of 2017, I graduated from Southern New Hampshire University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (Certified K-6). During the 2016-2017 school year, I completed my student teaching experience in Salem School District, teaching 2nd grade at Barron Elementary School. During the 2017-2018 school year, I worked as an instructional assistant and long-term substitute in Salem School District teaching across the grade levels--- Kindergarten at Barron, 1st Grade at North Salem (6 months), and 5th grade at Barron (3 months). I began teaching 1st Grade at Soule in August 2018.
